Websites for Beauty Salons and Hairdressers That Fill the Diary

What a beauty salon or hairdresser's website needs so people book online and you show up on Google. With two real cases from Alicante.

Web design for beauty salons and hairdressers in Alicante

You're good at what you do, your clients come back and they recommend you. But the diary runs in waves: some weeks packed, others with gaps that hurt. Meanwhile the salon that opened eight months ago three streets away comes up first when someone searches "beauty salon" in your area.

It's a pattern we see a lot. It's almost never a quality problem. It's that the new client never finds out you exist.

We run two websites in this sector in Alicante province. Here's what works.

How a new client actually searches

Before talking about the site, it helps to understand the journey, because it isn't the one you'd imagine.

Hardly anyone searches "beauty salon". They search the specific treatment: "laser hair removal Alicante", "gel nails near me", "facial treatment San Vicente". Google shows them the map with three businesses, they look at the photos, look at the reviews, and click into one or two websites.

That's where it's decided. And what decides it isn't the design: it's whether they quickly find exactly what you do, what it costs and how to book. If they have to call during working hours to ask prices, many won't call.

One detail we all forget: most of this happens on a phone, often late at night, on the sofa. At that hour your salon is closed. Your website isn't.

What it does need

A page per treatment, not a list

This is the change that produces the most results and the one almost nobody makes.

If every treatment is stacked on one "services" page, you have a single page competing against salons with a dedicated page for laser, another for nails and another for facials. You lose to all three.

With one page per treatment, each explaining what it involves, how long it takes, what it costs and what to expect afterwards, you go from one door into your site to six or eight. And each one attracts exactly the person searching for that.

It's the same reasoning we explain in what a landing page is.

Prices, even if they're "from"

It feels risky to publish them, we know. The reality is that someone who doesn't see a price on your site goes and looks on another one.

You don't need the full price list. A "from €25" per treatment filters out people who aren't your fit and reassures those who are. It also saves you half the "hi, how much?" messages.

Booking without talking to anyone

Online booking, or at minimum a WhatsApp link with the message pre-written. Plenty of people would rather not call, especially younger clients and especially at eleven at night, which is when they decide.

If you already use booking software, it integrates. If not, a simple form that reaches your phone works perfectly to start with.

Photos of you, the salon and the work

No stock images. It shows, and it says exactly the opposite of what you want.

Photos of your salon, your treatment room, your hands working and real results (with permission). In this sector clients buy trust before technique, and trust comes through the eyes.

Your reviews, on your site

You have good reviews on Google. Bring them onto your site too, especially onto the page of the treatment they mention. A review talking about laser, on the laser page, is worth three paragraphs of your own copy.

One real case

Pilar Romero (San Vicente del Raspeig). A skincare studio. The brief was that it should not look like the others, and that work happened in the code: all 25 colour tokens live in a single hue, there is not one serif typeface — in a sector built on them — and the fonts are self-hosted and preloaded.

That last part gives a measurable result: a CLS of 0.000 on mobile and desktop. The text does not jump when the typeface arrives, which is the flicker that gives a cheap site away. Plus 100 out of 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO on both devices at once.

You can read the whole thing, with the measurements and what is still to fix, in the full case study.

Three mistakes that cost clients

Only having Instagram. Instagram shows your work, and it's brilliant for that. But nobody finds a beauty salon by searching Instagram: they search Google. And on Google, an Instagram profile ranks poorly next to a proper website.

The site a friend built six years ago. It's usually the same story: doesn't look right on a phone, slow to load, prices out of date. It does more harm than having nothing, because the client sees it and forms an outdated impression of you.

A half-finished Google listing. No opening hours, no recent photos, wrong category. It's the single highest-impact thing in this sector and the one most people neglect. Full guide here: how to appear on Google Maps.

Frequently asked questions

What does a site like this cost? It depends how many treatments you have and whether you want online booking. We have an article with real ranges: how much a professional website costs.

How long before it shows? The Google listing, weeks. The website, three to six months to start ranking for specific treatments, and it keeps improving from there.

I already have regulars, why would I need a site? For the gaps. Your regulars will keep coming. The website is for filling the quiet Tuesdays and for the day a long-standing client moves away.

What if I don't want to publish prices? Try "from". If that still doesn't convince you, at least make it obvious how to ask in one click. What can't happen is the client not knowing where to start.

In short

A page per treatment, guide prices, booking without a phone call, real photos and a properly set-up Google listing. That's the package. Not glamorous, but it's what fills gaps in the diary.

If you run a beauty salon or hairdresser in Alicante or nearby and want us to look at your site and your Google listing, we'll do it and tell you what we'd change. Costs nothing.
